यह पाठ्यक्रम Board of Examinations for Seafarers Trust (BEST) द्वारा निर्धारित GSK & MEK syllabus पर आधारित है और DG Shipping exam (written + oral) की तैयारी के लिए उपयुक्त है।

General Service Knowledge (Deck Foundation)

📙 PART B – MEK

Marine Engineering Knowledge (Engine Foundation)

 

🔹 1. Familiarisation with Duties & Engine Room Environment

  • Duties of engine crew

  • Assistance in maintenance & repairs

  • Lubrication of moving parts

  • Pump & valve operation (under supervision)

  • Engine room cleanliness

  • Watchkeeping assistance & gauge monitoring

  • Engine room layout & emergency escape routes

 

🔹 2. Basic Fitting & Tools

  • Identification & use of hand tools:

    • Hammers (Ball pein, Sledge, Chipping)

    • Chisels

    • Files

    • Hacksaw

  • Spanners & wrenches:

    • Open-ended

    • Ring spanner

    • Torque wrench

  • Taps & Dies:

    • Internal & external threading

 

🔹 3. Safe Working Procedures

  • Safety basics & human error awareness

  • PPE usage

  • Enclosed space entry:

    • Permit to work

    • Ventilation

    • Oxygen level (20.9%)

  • Electrical safety:

  • Environmental safety:
