Course Description: DG Approved CCMC (Certificate Course in Maritime Catering)

The DG Approved CCMC Course (Certificate Course in Maritime Catering) is a Government of India, Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) approved program designed for students aspiring to build a rewarding career in the merchant navy’s catering department.

This 6-month residential training program focuses on equipping students with the professional knowledge, practical skills, and discipline required to work onboard national and international ships. The course covers Food Production, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage Service, Hygiene & Sanitation, Maritime Safety, First Aid, Fire Prevention, and Shipboard Familiarization.

Upon successful completion, candidates are issued INDOS Number & CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate) and become eligible to join as a Steward or Messman on merchant ships. With further experience and performance, candidates can progress to higher ranks such as Chief Cook and even Catering Officer onboard.

What Will You Learn?

  • Testing areas for knowledge - Food Production
  • The examination will be an online format of duration 3 hours (180 minutes).
  • The examination will be of the objective type comprising 200 questions. A total of 100 questions will test knowledge and 100 questions that test aptitude.
  • Each question answered correctly is awarded 1 mark and every question answered incorrectly is awarded 0.25 negative mark. Unattempted questions are not marked (no plus or minus marks).
